Located in Poolewe, the Inverewe Gardens are botanical gardens established in 1862 by Osgood Mackenzie on 49 acres. The garden boasts some 2,500 exotic plants and flowers, which flourish in Northern Scotland thanks to the warm currents of the Gulf Stream. From April through late autumn, the gardens are an explosion of colour, and are also very vibrant during the winter months as the bark of the various rhododendron flower in January and maintain colouful year-round.
