VISIT THIS CHARMING SMALL TOWN FOR THE SCENERY.
Durness is a small village located in the northern Highlands. It is best known for being the gateway to the famous Cape Wrath as well as Scotland and Britain’s most north westerly village.
You’ll also find that Durness is located along the North Coast 500 driving route. From here, the main road from Thurso turns left and heads south towards Ullapool. For that reason, it is an ideal destination for a stopover along the way.
In fact, there is much to visit from this thriving village. The surroundings offer spectacular scenery from rocky coastline to sandy dunes. Dip your toes in the turquoise waters and keep an eye out for the wildlife.
Smoo cave, one of Britain’s most scenic sea caves, is also located nearby.
