Visit this small, colourful resort town nicknamed the “Gateway to the Highlands”.
The small, colourful resort town of Callander is nicknamed the “Gateway to the Highlands” owing to its location on the eastern edge of the Trossachs National Park and Loch Lomond area. It’s a great base for exploring area attractions and has some interesting stories — for example, the last person in Scotland to be arrested for witchcraft (in 1944) was from Callander.
