We had both a driver for the tour and 3 extra days in Edinburgh. The driver, Danny, was on time, courteous and knowledgeable. He allowed for changes in the itinerary without a problem. All services provided by Nordic Visitor were excellent, as was all the accommodation.

We took this trip with another couple and it was a great experience. Never having travelled to Scotland, it took some time to figure out exactly what we wanted to see and do. However, we managed to put together a plan for each day, some ahead of time and sometimes spur of the moment. Isle of Skye had to be our favorite area, and I so wish we could have stayed overnight in Oban area as that is a hidden jewel.

Nordic Visitor (specifically our travel consultant, Eve) was very responsive to our needs. We loved having alternatives on each day's itinerary. We are not as young as we used to be, but we still love travel, and being able to do each day at our own pace was essential for us. We loved the variety of accommodation.

Our tour guide, Dan, and driver were fabulous. Nobody brought up a subject that Dan was not fully prepared for. His wealth of knowledge is an excellent resource in Nordic Visitor.

We were very impressed with our guide. Best part of the tour as he was extremely knowledgeable. Travel was easy, timely and clean. Not a lot of vegetarian options for dinner.

We had a great time for 10 days in Scotland. Driving on the left side of the road was scary at first but then we mastered it. When we had questions, Duncan, our travel consultant, was a phone call away. Will definitely use Nordic Visitor again. Having everything planned out for us, hotels and routes, was very easy with the vouchers.

The accommodation was all very good and the people very friendly. The route could have been a little better defined as well as certain sights that should be seen.

Great tour, good support when things did not work out as planned, good people working for you. Eve was great. The accommodation was all great, wonderful people. Some places we got to and some we did not, but we had a wonderful time and will recommend you folks to everyone, as well as see you in the future.

Chris was on top of everything, making changes at the last minute when the ferry fire occurred.

Rebecca was excellent in her communication with us. One example is that right before we travelled, she rebooked our ferry to Orkney because of a problem with the original plan. The car rental, the personalised itinerary with maps and the suggestions for places to see along the way were all very helpful. The trip was one of my all time favorite adventures.

We were impressed and pleased from the beginning by Nordic Visitor's flexibility about adding days and, in one case, changing an overnight location. We had planned and reserved an extensive trip throughout Scotland before the Covid pandemic forced our cancellation. Nordic Visitor's tour with our additions came close to what we'd planned without our having to go to all that trouble again. If we'd done the trip on our own, many of our accommodations would not have been as good, we might have paid more, and I'm not sure we'd have done as well keeping up with ferry changes or other issues. From our first contact with Nordic Visitor, the whole experience was a delight. Duncan, our travel consultant, was easy to reach and very responsive to answer questions and to provide any information we needed. I had not booked a tour online before, but was very surprised and grateful at how professional the team was and how easy they made it.  

 

They even helped us book a couple of extra days at the beginning of our trip so that we could get over jet lag and explore Edinburgh more. The notes and maps and individualised itinerary they sent us made the trip a delight.  

 

Once we started the tour, our guide, Andy, was spectacular. He was very knowledgeable about history, locations and events. He also was very entertaining, charming and funny. After the tour, he provided the group with a playlist of the music we listened to while travelling, recommended books and movies about Scottish history. We are already recommending Nordic Visitor to everyone we know who wants to travel to Scotland. In our small tour group, some of the folks had used Nordic Visitor in the past and had such a great experience they were using them again. We will be doing the same. It was a trip of a lifetime and went way beyond our hopes or expectations for what we saw and were able to experience.

We went on the Scotland Winter World tour for 8 days, and overall it was great. We experienced so much and travelled all over Scotland. The detailed information that was provided upon arrival was amazing. Magda was wonderful and knowledgeable and responded quickly to emails and phone calls.

Great trip! It was wonderful working with Eve, and Chris on the emergency line found us a great last-minute B&B to stay in when we left Harris early due to a pending storm!

The tour was outstanding! The itinerary was beautifully laid out with fantastic accommodation! We enjoyed the hiking very much.

We made some side detours through national parks and enjoyed exploring. Loved Stirling Castle and our time on Skye. We did not allow enough time to do anything in Inverness but enjoyed the lodge and their restaurant. We drove over the narrow mountain pass and being from Colorado we enjoyed the mountains. Overall I am thankful for finding and booking through Nordic Visitor. I will probably book through them again! The trip was well thought out with lots of details that helped me every step of the way for my first time not only outside of the US, but to Scotland.

Loved our trip! I had never travelled abroad and this was absolutely the best way to do so. Extremely easy to understand what the tour would include and what to expect. Beautiful accommodation with local recommendations, great vegetarian options. When there was an issue with our check-in at our last hotel, it was handled swiftly with minimal impact, very professional staff. We felt safe everywhere we went, our tour guide was phenomenal and we saw such incredible sights. This tour was a great way to see as much as the country as we could in the time we had, and I would not hesitate to book again!

Our guide did a fantastic job finding smaller stops that met our interests as a group when time allowed. We spent quite a bit of time travelling in the van to reach our destinations each day but the places we visited were worth the trip for me. Beautiful country and kind, gracious people.

We had a wonderful time touring Scotland. Our guide was fabulous; knowledgeable and witty (and a good driver over "dodgy" roads). Also enjoyed tales from Brian our second guide. Overnight accommodation were first rate, food was varied and delicious. Enjoyed the remoteness of several places, hotel downtown Inverness not so much.

My travel consultant, Rebecca, was very friendly, efficient and helpful. She always responded to my emails promptly. She even noticed that a flight I was booked on was cancelled before I had a chance to email her with the change. I was so impressed with the service provided that I am contemplating another trip to Scotland for next year. The tour guides (we had two) were excellent. When the weather made it difficult to do something on the itinerary they came up with an alternative that was equally as interesting.

Every accommodation was stunning! We were met with enthusiasm and kindness and courtesy. I cannot say enough about our trip and the way it was set up and the accommodations. Everything was spot on and it was the trip of a lifetime for my sister and I. We already have friends who have booked a trip through Nordic as well. I am seriously considering another trip to Scotland next year and using Nordic for sure.

All accommodations were fantastic in both Scotland and Iceland. Car rentals pickup and drop off were great. Loved the Audi A5 Sport in Scotland. Transfers from Glasgow airport and Keflavik airport were very professional. Ferry crossing was very nice. My wife and I are very impressed with our Scotland and Iceland vacation and will definitely be booking through Nordic Visitor for our future trips.  

I really appreciate having an itinerary that's set for the trip. I've had trips in the past where we didn't plan ahead and it became stressful trying to come up with activities to do. I never feel that way when I travel with Nordic Visitor. Great spots to visit and great company. It was a wonderful trip.

We had the best time and experience, the self-drive tour was easy to follow and gave us enough structure to see a lot in a small amount of time but still gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace. The restaurant recommendations were really helpful and the places we stayed were so memorable and inviting. It was also great that we had the flexibility to add another day to Edinburgh at the beginning of the trip to explore. I'll highly recommend the tour agency.

Brian was an exceptional tour guide. He was informative, entertaining, got us where we needed to go safe and on time...and brought us to some extra sights along the way. His local insights were invaluable. Singing "Oh What A Beautiful Morning" every day when we got on the bus started the day off just right. I truly can't express how much we enjoyed this tour and I think a lot of that can be attributed to Brian.

Annie was perfection from the time we booked the tour and the maps and materials sent to us prior to departure were great. Being a vegan, I am used to "making due" with salads or whatever I can cajole the chef/cook to make me while traveling and often rely on protein bars, etc. The food on this trip was exceptional, and many of our trip mates where jealous of my meals. This pleasant surprise certainly took this trip to an entirely new level for me. The small group, the wonderful sights, the grand itinerary, the superb lodgings. Everything was enjoyable....truly.

Just a "thank you!" We had a wonderful vacation! We both agreed it was tied with our other favorite (a stay in the rainforest of Costa Rica) for #1! We loved Scotland and your company made it easy and affordable!! Christoph was great too!

Annie was just superb to deal with both over the phone and with the internet. She was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. Loved Cocoa Mountain in Durness. We truly enjoyed Orkney Island and also the Islands of Harris and Lewis. Since we punctured a tire, we were grateful to have the insurance package.

I had a very positive experience with your company.  Christoph was extremely user-friendly in terms of dealing with the one-off aspects of my travel (such as bad-timing associated with being in Edinburgh the same time as the marathon was being run there).  I tend not to like organized travel companies since in their efforts to come up with an itinerary that is one-size-fits-all, they tend to recommend the most common/touristy sites and don't provide sufficient opportunity to check out more off-the-beaten path destinations.  That was not a problem at all with Nordic Visitor.  I am a very satisfied customer and only wish that you provided service in destinations I am more likely to visit in the future!

This vacation was our honeymoon. We had just got married in the states a few days prior to the start of our trip. We had the most incredible experience. Everything was just wonderful. Working with our travel agent, Maria, for months prior, could not have been a better experience. She was so helpful, always quick to respond, answered all of my (many!) questions with great detail, and was so friendly. My sister secretly reached out to her to choose a restaurant to treat us to dinner for the last night of our trip, and Maria's suggestion was perfect. I especially loved the folder we received upon arrival that included vouchers for each day. This was helpful to enter in the destination to the car's GPS to help us get around. The spiral bound itinerary/suggestion booklet was really great. Not only did it suggest what to do each day, but it gave you a little history of each item. Since we were on our own most of the trip, these little blurbs of info gave me a nice bit of history, the perfect amount. The section at the end that provided helpful tips on traveling, money, tipping, weather, packing, etc. was awesome. I could not have asked for a better experience at any stage of planning or the trip itself.

Tour director Brian was amazing! He made the trip fun & educational. 

Brian provided us daily bonus stops in addition to the planned itinerary. I loved that we didn't hit all the usual crowded tourists stops! 

All accommodations were excellent! Christoph was excellent to work with. We enjoyed communicating with him! He provided all or more assistance that we requested. Extremely helpful!

Great arrangements and routing.

The perfect trip. We felt so confident having the entire trip planned out for us, since we were just there for a short period of time. We will absolutely be using them again for future vacations.

We were supposed to travel in 2020, but obviously that didn't happen due to Covid. Nordic Visitor gave us a voucher plus 15% to use within the next 4 years. We travelled to Scotland in June of 2023. Duncan was top-notch. Handled everything flawlessly. The day we were to leave, our flight got cancelled. The next flight was in 2 days. He moved our first 2 days to the end so nothing else was disrupted. Very helpful. Would highly recommend.

We made many wonderful memories with our family! The views and service at all the accommodation were wonderful.

Our rental car was fabulous and the process was easy to pick it up. We loved most of our hotels, but one or two were a bit more dated than what we had imagined.

My son and I were guided across Scotland by folks who live there. The itinerary was just what we needed. We covered more territory in ten days, saw several sites per day, and did much more than we might have planned by ourselves. From the friendly folks at the car rental, to the sailors on the ferries, back to the last cab driver in Edinburgh, we were treated so well and in such a friendly manner that we would go again in a heartbeat!

We booked the Highlands & Isle of Skye self-drive tour. Chris was extremely helpful in getting everything planned and kept us well-informed. All of the people we met were extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. Our tour path enabled us to see just how beautiful of a country Scotland really is. We saw 13 castles, 4 old churches/cathedrals, 3 stone circles, dinosaur tracks and amazing landscapes. We would definitely do it again and are already recommending this trip to our friends and family.

The tour package materials were top notch. Spiral bound itinerary, recommended activities, restaurant recommendations and the large-scale road map of Scotland were a nice touch. Magdalena, our Nordic Visitor representative, responded promptly to our questions. Accomodation was all great.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour of the Wonders of Scotland. Our tour guide and driver were exceptional in their roles regarding knowledge, safety and humorous dispositions. We had a wonderful group who travelled with us and will be our forever travel mates. The tour was excellent, with a good mix of the country's history, beauty and feel of local flavors to experience. Accommodation was great too!

Overall, this was an amazing trip and I would recommend it to friends and family. The combination of our tour guide and driver made this extra special! Our guide was also very accommodating to the visitors and made it possible for us to see Dunvegan Castle (at our own expense as it was not on the itinerary). The hotels and meals were great for the group and provided a nice, overall, Scottish experience. I loved the fact that we did not spend much time in the city and spent our time in the open countryside.  

This was an amazing trip! I can't say enough about the care and detail that went into the planning, the itinerary, the maps, everything! All of the accommodation was perfect (with one exception). Having a car with GPS made getting around so easy (especially when I missed an exit on a roundabout). I would not hesitate to use Nordic Visitor again for a memorable vacation.

Chris was excellent to work with. Car rental was good and upgraded us to a Mercedes. All the castles were amazing! We booked our times ahead.

Overall the tour was excellent! I appreciated the advice from the travel agent. This helped me feel very prepared for our trip. Everywhere we stayed was wonderful. The extras, such as the tea at Edinburgh Castle and the Ghostly Underground tour, were great. The recommendations for how to get around in the city and the restaurant guide were great as well. We plan to use Nordic Visitor again in a year or two for a second trip to Scotland and someday for a trip to Iceland.

The suggestions given to us in our published itinerary were thorough and we had so many fun adventures based on those suggestions. Scotland is gorgeous and we got to see many areas of the country. The GPS system in the car we rented was crucial as we acclimated to the country and driving on the left side of the road! We felt we saw 99% of Scotland using Nordic Visitor. Chris did a great job lining up our lodgings, vehicle, ferry tickets and providing a detailed itinerary. We left no stone unturned and although I was apprehensive about driving on the left, I had no issues. The single lane tracks were dicey but everyone was friendly and gave a passing wave. The sheep presented no problem as we enjoyed our revenge at dinner.

The itinerary was great, kept us on track. A lot of info and suggestions, almost too much to get it all done. Nordic Visitor should have a better description of when things are open, closed, limited hours, etc.

We found all of the information given so helpful to plan our days. We stopped at many of the suggested locations and loved all of them. So many hidden gems we wouldn't have otherwise seen or experienced.

Travelling with Nordic Visitor made our trip stress-free and seamless. We enjoyed all the parts of our trip and appreciated our guide's suggestions for little added adventures along the way. We felt like we fit so much into just one week.

From the moment we landed in Scotland, I felt comfortable and taken care of. Brenda was exceptional at her job and made the whole trip magical. I have already recommended your company to others.

Eve had arranged everything! Maps and points of interest were highlighted, vouchers all arranged, Historic Scotland passes were widely used. I was used to manually arranging details for a trip, but Eve took care of it all, so we could just enjoy the experience. She even arranged for champagne at 2 of the stops for our anniversary!

This is my first time travelling with Nordic Visitor. I felt fully prepared and ready for the trip due to the information and details I was provided with prior to travelling. It was easy to communicate with my tour rep and get all of my questions answered in a timely fashion. If I had travelled on my own, I never would have been able to do and see everything I did on the trip. As a solo traveller, I felt safe and comfortable in a small group. A tour has its pros and cons though - lots of driving and time on a mini-bus, being on a schedule with little to no flexibility, and being with strangers you do not get to pick. However, having a professional tour guide share information, take us to great and local spots to eat, and re-arrange the itinerary when it was not feasible, was worth it! My guide really made this trip memorable!

Everything about our experience was incredible. Each hotel was lovely and accommodating. Every person we met was kind and helpful! Driving through the Scottish countryside was an adventure my husband and I will cherish forever! Super organized, loved the maps and site recommendations! We would do it again and book with Nordic Visitor again in a heartbeat! Can't wait to go back to Scotland!

I was a little bit worried about using an online tour company I had never heard about but Nordic Visitor blew away any fears right from the start. Christoph made me feel like he would take care of everything and he did!!! We couldn't have asked for a better family holiday in Scotland!! Christoph was fabulous at getting back in touch when I emailed him. I never had to wait more than a day even with the time difference to the U.S. The accommodations were fantastic! Our hosts made us feel right at home and the accommodations were comfortable.

Our trip to Scotland, was one of the most relaxing trips I have ever taken other than a cruise. All the details were taken care of and we didn't have to worry about anything. We were able to see and do everything at our own pace and didn't feel rushed to get anywhere. If we wanted to stop and take pictures, go on a hike or stop and shop in a town, we were able to because of the flexibility in our itinerary. The map that was provided was very detailed and easy to follow. All of the documents provided key details so there was never any confusion on where to go and when we needed to be there. We used the personal itinerary, highlights, and useful information like it was the Bible. The car rental was excellent and the car we received was brand new. The GPS in the rental car was a lifesaver on more than one occasion during our trip. We wouldn't have been able to see as much as we did without it. The hotels and guesthouses were very accommodating and provided excellent service. Everyone was very friendly and professional. The staff at the guesthouses and hotels were very knowledgeable and were able to answer any questions we had about the area where we were staying. Overall, it was the best trip we ever could've imagined. We were a little nervous because it was our very first trip to Europe but because everything went smoothly, we can't wait to go again! We would recommend Nordic Visitor to anyone and will most likely be booking another trip with your company as soon as we are able to. "Very Good" comes short of describing my trip! This was probably my top, most favorite trip every and I travel a lot. The B&Bs and hotels were excellent and I chose the standard. My itinerary was well planned making it so easy to just enjoy everything. The detailed guide book also was a great help in offering suggestions of thing not to miss. My deepest appreciation to Annie not only for planning this outstanding trip, but also her "above and beyond" service dealing with my luggage which the airline had lost.

Seldom do you find something where you feel that you received more value for your hard earned money  than what you spent. Nordic Visitor delivered a near perfect experience at what we consider to be a most reasonable cost. Extensive travel plans including a larger, weather proof map of Scotland, were waiting for us in our hotel along with a personal note from Maria along with her phone number. Communications was excellent throughout our experience. Maria was extremely patient and provided us some very specific options. We own sheep dogs and wanted to see a sheep dog demonstration. No problem! Within 20 minutes, we had the information and directions to a working sheep farm. Perfect.

I thought the hotels which were chosen were excellent!  I was also very happy with the planned itinerary.  Christoph was excellent.  He was very receptive to questions and always got back to me.  I can't wait to book with Nordic Visitor NEXT summer!

The overall experience exceeded our expectations. We loved the attention to detail.  Annie obviously understood what type of planning we wanted. We were able to be spontaneous if we saw something that we wanted to include.  Many of the owners of accommodations told us how happy they were to be working with Nordic Visitors.  The travel guide was sturdy, survived the trip in one piece, even served as a plate for our lunches eaten in the car as we would return from a walk.  We took scotch tape along to mend the map, it's pretty big to handle in the car.  And a highlighter to add stops and reminders to help us when we start putting our pictures together.  But, the travel guide will be the most helpful when it comes to putting our travel album together.  

The places we stayed at were so very nice.  I don't know how we would rank them.  The owners were so very nice and helpful.  Giving us directions and making recommendations on dinners and even making reservations for us.  The locations of the accommodations were usually within walking distance of village centers.  Picking up our rental car was speedy and well organized.  A new car was ready for us and they took the time to go over key points of the car.

 

We had an amazing trip! It was so well curated! All of the destinations were thoughtful both in terms of location and distance traveled during the day. The sightseeing suggestions in the tour guide were excellent. The hotels and guest houses were all wonderful - comfortable and full of character. To put together a trip like this on our own would have required weeks of online research and we never would have been able to achieve something this perfect! Thank you so much for a great trip!

The self-driving tour planned for us was everything I'd hoped, with a wonderful range of destinations and accommodations throughout. In every case, arrangements were what we would have chosen, had we planned this trip ourselves!

We did a self-drive tour including the Orkney islands. The entire process from booking to flying home was seamless. Our accommodation was all amazing, especially the B&Bs. Throughout the years we have travelled a lot, but never with a group tour. This trip was our first time and it did not disappoint. We did the self guided tour of Scotland. I wish we had more time to explore this amazing country! It was a new experience for most of us to drive around on our own and be able to control what we saw and it will definitely be a way of travel for us in the future. Itinerary, rental car, and accommodation were all outstanding. Guest houses and hosts exceeded our expectations.

We liked how the tour was tailored to our interests and we were able to pick and choose what we wanted to see. All of the recommendations along the way were good. We were also glad that we made dinner & castle reservations ahead of time, as advised by Duncan. Duncan answered all of our questions and gave us some good pointers on how to maximise our tour.

For our 50th wedding anniversary, we trusted Nordic Visitor to make our vacation a memorable one, and they made it beyond special. Chris, our tour planner, did everything to accommodate our needs and answered our questions quickly. It was an absolutely perfect vacation!

Our private tour guide, Pete, was phenomenal, and all of our accommodation was great! My husband is disabled and Nordic Visitor took every needed step to ensure our B&Bs could take care of his needs.

Early in our tour, our ferry to Orkney had to be rebooked due to issues with Pentland. We were not in a good service area to get that information on the day that Nordic Visitor tried to contact us. The changes were sent to our accommodation that evening and everything went smoothly. All accommodation was great. They were clean, had great breakfasts and were located in beautiful settings.

Rebecca was always prompt with responses to questions and always informative, always patient. We're first time (and older) travellers and her professional manner was a delight to work with.

So many wonderful memories of our tour were because of the exceptional service provided by Dave, our private tour guide. His knowledge was exceptional and we felt very welcomed by him. We all felt as if we were leaving a friend at the end of our tour. He greatly exceeded all of our expectations!

Our experience was great, from prior to booking on through to the actual tour. Duncan took care of all of our questions and added an Underground Vaults tour for us at time of booking. We received all of our details in an email prior to trip, and a welcome bag was waiting at our hotel upon arrival with everything we needed. It was an awesome private tour that my husband and I will remember always. Our tour guide, Pete, was awesome and took very good care of us along the way until we finished the tour and were taken back to Edinburgh. I have never used a tour service like this, but it was the perfect way to experience Scotland. We were given amazing suggestions, great directions, had every question answered, and had the perfect experience. Our consultant, Magda, was wonderful! It was the right balance between independence and an assisted tour. I am already recommending Nordic Visitor to everyone.

We toured Scotland for two weeks. The accommodation was all lovely, historic boutique hotels. Rebecca came up with a wonderful itinerary for us on relatively short notice.

We selected the Scottish Highlands & Isle of Skye self-drive tour and it was perfect for us. We liked that Nordic Visitor arranged hotels and the rental car for us, but we were free to pick what sights we wanted to see in between. This was actually a rescheduled trip from 2022 and the team made it so easy to transfer over our balance and reschedule. They were attentive to any upgrades/changes we wanted to make and made it so easy. Would 100% recommend using them.

Awesome experience, superior service and well-planned adventure. I have only good things to say about our driving tour through Nordic Visitor. I definitely would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a perfectly planned visit to Scotland.

Overall, I had a wonderful time on the tour and I was very impressed with all the accommodation. The food was also very good - I appreciated the options, even though it was a limited menu offering. Our guide, Richard, was very knowledgeable. Our driver, Tim, was also wonderful - good driving and knowledgable.

Highlights of Scotland was a great introductory tour - a fair amount of mini-coach travel but lots of opportunity for photos, history, context, and quick walks and climbs. Inverness and Isle of Skye were real highlights, as was Glen Coe. We had a great tour guide and drivers. I think our small tour group generally were really pleased. Andy was an outstanding tour guide - knowledgeable, entertaining, sociable, organised, and helpful in any possible way.

I want to thank everyone that helped with the trip because it was an excellent service. I will recommend you to people I know, because all of Nordic Visitor's recommendations were great and the hotels and B&Bs were amazing. I will probably do another trip with you guys. I hope you expand your services to more countries.

We booked a 4-day Christmas Tour of Edinburgh which included hotel accommodation, a walking tour of the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle, a day tour of the Highlands and Lowlands, castles, and lochs, and also a whisky distillery tour. The hotel was in an amazing location near the Christmas Markets and popular attractions. The day tours were such a wonderful way to experience the countryside outside of Edinburgh. We also added a driving service to drive us to and from the airport and the drivers were so lovely. The care package left at the hotel consisting of maps and suggested eateries was such a delightful bonus. We loved that every aspect of our trip was planned and ready for us once we arrived which diminished any travel stress that one may experience when travelling abroad.

My mother and I had a wonderful time together driving around Scotland. Everywhere we stayed was very comfortable and clean and friendly.

Despite the time difference between the US and Nordic Visitor I found Rebecca to be prompt in responding to my questions. Everything was beautifully presented upon arrival in a bag I found useful while walking around Edinburgh and shopping. Plenty of information for us to enjoy Edinburgh ourselves before heading to the Highlands with our private driver.

I have used your service for an Iceland tour before with friends. This time it was for solo travel. I wanted to feel safe and have someone there to help me in case of emergency. Last but not least I wanted things to be planned in a new country that I might have spent hours but still could not have come up with, details that you guys have provided. We did an extended version of the "Grand Tour of Scotland". It was all we hoped for and everything went as smoothly as silk. All connections were accurate. Every accommodation was expecting us. All the people were wonderful. This was our first trip with a tour company. We usually make these plans ourselves but felt overwhelmed planning for a three-week trip. Nordic Visitor really helped us. We felt a high degree of personal attention to our questions and needs. The staff answered all of our questions during the process of developing the itinerary. We felt as though the staff had first hand experience with all the sites we intended to visit and shared their experiences. We communicated with Nordic Visitor entirely by email. Most replies to email required at least two days, however, the replies were always courteous and thorough and friendly and helpful.

We had the BEST time and used all the documents and tour ideas to build a great trip. The hotels and B&B locations were spectacular and the meals (usually at our hotel) were extremely wonderful, as well as the service and ambience.

I was on the tour of the Scottish Highlands including Skye and overall was very pleased. Both our guides were warm and knowledgeable about the places they drove us. I appreciated the pre-tour service of Eve, our travel consultant. Although I was accompanied by a friend, we only received one map of Scotland and one itinerary.

Nordic Visitor did an amazing job of eliminating all of the leg work before our three-week road trip around Scotland. They booked all of the hotels and ferries, secured our Historic Scotland passes, and provided detailed recommendations for restaurants, tours, and activities in every single destination on our tour. The biggest complication of our trip was that we needed three rooms in each overnight destination to accommodate a family of five. Nordic Visitor made easy work of this and I was extremely impressed by the results. Rebecca, our personal concierge, was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, and was extremely helpful in assisting us before and during our visit. All of the hotels had great food and people. Response time was excellent -  Agnes was very attentive. The packets were wonderful, we referred to them constantly. The big map was very helpful as well.

We thought the daily itinerary was very well planned - several stops that were never more than 45 minutes from one another and never too overly ambitious. The recommendations for places to stop for refreshments were also very good. The itinerary also distinguished between the 'must see' and the 'if you have time'. It was obvious that the itineray was prepared by someone who was extremely familiar with the sites. We enjoyed the trip immensely. It was better than we hoped it would be.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with Nordic on their "Scottish Highlands and the Isles" tour. It was everything we could have imagined and more. Don't miss the opportunity to experience the best of Scotland with the best tour agency.

AMAZING. We stayed in hotels we probably would not have booked on our own and the host were fabulous and told us that Annie was a pleasure to work with when booking our stay. All the hotels knew who we were and expected us. When our ferry got cancelled Annie made sure to call the hotel and notify us of a change of plans and gave us a very detailed route and got in contact with our next hotel to notify them that we would be late. We were very impressed!

Totally great experience! Our driver/guide was great and a lot of fun and made the trip so much fun. Everything went very smoothly and everyone was very nice and helpful.

Hotels were all excellent.  Wonderful service at each place.  Couldn't have been happier. This was a stress free trip because of the planning provided by Annie. I was able to review things to do with our kids so they could pick out the things that they wanted to do and see while visiting Scotland. It was nice to have a list of options to pick from.  Every day was great.  I especially loved the map with the highlighted routes, hotels and points of interest.  While filling up the car, I got out to unfold the entire map and flip it over so we could see the upper section of Scotland.  My daughter told me that people were looking at me as I did this.  I told her they had map envy!

This vacation was our honeymoon. We had just got married in the states a few days prior to the start of our trip. We had the most incredible experience. Everything was just wonderful. Working with our travel agent, Maria, for months prior, could not have been a better experience. She was so helpful, always quick to respond, answered all of my (many!) questions with great detail, and was so friendly. My sister secretly reached out to her to choose a restaurant to treat us to dinner for the last night of our trip, and Maria's suggestion was perfect. I especially loved the folder we received upon arrival that included vouchers for each day. This was helpful to enter in the destination to the car's GPS to help us get around. The spiral bound itinerary/suggestion booklet was really great. Not only did it suggest what to do each day, but it gave you a little history of each item. Since we were on our own most of the trip, these little blurbs of info gave me a nice bit of history, the perfect amount. The section at the end that provided helpful tips on traveling, money, tipping, weather, packing, etc. was awesome. I could not have asked for a better experience at any stage of planning or the trip itself.

Great locations, fantastic guide and driver for the bus. 

I'm not a very experienced traveller, but your services took away so much of the stress surrounding all the unknowns of travel. Everything was taken care of in advance, laid out beautifully, was very user-friendly, complete with options to choose from. I was a little nervous about how long it took to get the complete booking information, but once we were there and doing the tour I saw why! It was so well-put-together.

Our guide, Dave, was excellent and really made our first visit to Scotland one to remember!

We chose the lower of two tiers of accommodations. For the most part, they met our expectations: the rooms were quite small, but clean, staff at the places we stayed were friendly, and it was convenient not to have to go elsewhere for breakfast each day. The information booklet provided by Nordic Tours was helpful. The highlight of our journey was our guide. Gary was top-notch, and everything one could ask for: friendly, knowledgable, efficient, and a skilled navigator and driver. On many occasions, he helped us rearrange our plans on-the-fly, suggesting that we visit other sites or in a different sequence than originally planned, which made better use of our limited time.

Airport transfers were excellent. Drivers were on time and friendly. Accommodation was all good. You couldn't have paired our family with a better guide/driver than Dave. He made our Scotland experience so special by taking us off the beaten path and showing us some of the most beautiful natural sites and places in Scotland. We covered 1000 miles in distance in our 7 days. We learned so much from Dave.

Overall, we were happy with the tour. We especially liked the page for each day that had the suggestions of what to do in that area. We did so much hiking and relied on the suggested hikes on that sheet. We had not researched ahead except for a few "must-see" sights so it was very helpful to have the highlights for each area layed out for our needs.

Most of the hotels were amazing. The rooms were wonderful and the breakfasts were delicious.

Nordic Visitor provided a Scottish adventure with a good variety of stops at historical and culturally significant locations. I enjoyed the scenery as we went along roads that the larger tour buses could not go. They also accurately worked in the timing to miss the large tours at the sites. I had several of the best meals that were included in the package. Save your time and effort and hire Nordic Visitor to plan your tour.

Eve made planning our trip to Scotland easy, enjoyable and stress free by booking all of our hotels, cars, airport transfers and ferries. The suggested itineraries, restaurant guide, travel tips and highlighted road map that Nordic Visitor provided were awesome and well-used. All information was well-organised and presented to us upon our arrival at the first hotel. We had a wonderful and hassle-free time in Scotland thanks to Nordic Visitor.

I loved having everything mapped out for us, especially because it was our first trip to Scotland.

Our tour encountered a road block on our way to cross the bridge to Skye. The tour guide, Barbara, handled the situation of finding an alternative route to get to Skye safely very calmly and professionally. Tim, our driver, likewise was very professional and calm during this situation. I was very impressed with how he drove the van over some narrow and steep roads to get to the alternate ferry, so we could continue to our accommodation on Skye. It was a long day for both of them but they handled the situation very calmly.

We couldn't have had a better experience with Nordic Visitor. So happy we went with your company. Magda provided excellent service and answered all of my questions. We were happy with the upgrades we received, also. Thank you!

Is is testament to our happiness with the tour and services that our only complaint is that the provided map, although excellent, started to fall apart at the folds on the first day and was in shreds by end of trip. Other than that, we loved the trip and will be using your services again for a trip to Iceland.

We are two middle-aged women who had never been to the UK before. My sister-in-law always wanted to go to Scotland, so I started researching and came upon Nordic Visitor through internet searches. I checked for reviews and found the company to be highly recommended. I started corresponding with Kirsten. She was extremely kind, very helpful and was able to put my nervous mind at ease. The package she put together for us was perfect! From my first email, the airport pick up and drop off service, and the tour with Dave, it was an indescribably fantastic experience!

Our overall experience was very good, minus some accommodation that we did not like as much as the others. What made the tour exceptional was our guide, Dave. His knowledge of Scotland and professionalism made the trip. He was awesome about tailoring each day's itinerary to our likes and taking us off the beaten path to experiences and sights that we would never have found on our own.

Our guide, Peter, was outstanding. He was friendly, professional, accommodating and knowledgeable. Everything you want in a guide and driver.

We told Magda what we wanted to see and do, and she took care of everything. She did a great job coordinating our ferry transfers, including contacting me during the tour to tell me about a change. Accommodation was all perfect.

We did a self drive tour with Nordic Visitor and we were not disappointed. Being able to pick and choose what we wanted to do made our trip special. Travelling through Scotland at our own timeframe allowed us to make our trip ours versus having to follow a group. The itinerary suggestions made by Nordic Visitor were very good. Their overall trip planning was exceptional.

We appreciated having so many of the details sorted ahead of time for us. I love planning vacations, but for one with many stops like this, it was helpful to just know where we were staying, and not hassle myself. Also, we loved learning how much the B&B owners enjoy working with Nordic Visitor! Knowing that they were also having a great experience was reassuring.

Our tour guide was fantastic. I wish I would have been told more about what to expect before we travelled, though.

Our tour began in Edinburgh and made a wide circle through Aberdeen, the Orkney islands and the Hebrides islands. We saw castles, castle ruins, palaces, palace ruins and neolithic archeological digs. We toured galleries, museums, distilleries and beautiful, quaint towns. We saw sheep, hairy "coos" and deer. All of our accommodation was planned for us by Nordic Visitor and always included a breakfast that nearly lasted us all day. Nordic Visitor scheduled our rental car (we drove 1,500 miles in 3 weeks) and pre-booked our ferry passages. All we had to think about was having a good time and the location of our next stop for tea and biscuits. I am certain that we would not have seen this much of Scotland if we had planned our own itinerary. Some of our hosts had not seen what we saw of the countryside. We loved every minute.

Our Scotland tour was super. Andy, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He made the tour remarkable. We found Scotland a beautiful country. Skye was our favourite with breathtaking scenery.

We really liked the self driving tour concept. We were able to go at our own pace and choose the places we wanted to go on our own schedule. We went to a lot of the suggested sites but also did our share of wandering and found some really amazing things that we didn't even know existed. All of the hotel/B&B staff were really great. They gave dinner suggestions, helped us with restaurant bookings, directions and places to visit. Overall a really great trip and I look forward to using Nordic Visitor for trips to other countries.

This was our second tour with Nordic Visitor, with our first being Iceland in 2017. That first experience was stellar and we wanted to used Nordic Visitor again for Scotland this round since our first experience was so great. We really love the ability to go at our own pace, while getting tour and sight recommendations, and staying at unique, local properties. Scotland and the team we worked with for this tour did not disappoint! We were originally slated to go in April of 2020. Through it all Nordic Visitor and the team have been absolutely phenomenal, going well above and beyond anything we would have expected. Not only did they help us reschedule multiple times, they kept us updated with everything going on in the UK with the pandemic, and answered 100's of questions from us over the years. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that our original contracted amount for the trip was honoured, which was both unexpected but very appreciated. We will absolutely be using Nordic Visitor again in the future. We can't wait to use these services again! We worked with Chris nine months prior to the trip. He made the process easy and returned emails in a timely manner. Everything he said would be provided was as he said. I highly recommend your company! The accommodations were wonderful, we loved everything! Excellent experience. The car was ready at the rental company, the car was excellent quality. The museum/castle pass worked well and was handy.

We booked our tour of Scotland with Nordic Visitor based on a past experience on a tour in Iceland. We loved both of them. The itinerary was well planned and covered a lot of different parts of the country. Guides were well informed and lots of fun. Our hotels were top-notch. Going on a small group tour was much better than trying to do the drive ourselves. We could relax and enjoy the scenery, something we could not have done if we had to concentrate on driving.

My friend and I had a great time. We chose this tour with Nordic Visitor as it met our qualifications with length, places visited and size of travel group.

Once in the tour, we realized everything was simple and working out as planned. No issues. It was wonderful!

I cannot say enough good things about Nordic Visitor. Information given was thorough, accommodations were very comfortable (very friendly hosts) and tourist sights suggestions were incredibly helpful. Agne did a wonderful job! We had a very successful trip and I attribute a lot of this to the preparations put into place by Nordic. It was nice to know everything was laid out for us and a map highlighted with our trip and hotels marked was a great thing to have.  Also, the suggestions of things we might like to see was great!! Please increase your reach to other destination sites! You guys are the best and truly have a good grasp of what you are doing. We would like to go world wide only with Nordic Visitor... though, I guess it wouldn't be called Nordic Visitor then! lol, but seriously, if would be great! :)

This is my second tour with Nordic Visitor. I am very satisfied with the tours offered, the service provided by the travel agent, the hotels booked, travel itinerary and material provided.

We had a wonderful time on our private tour with Brian. He is an exceptional guide. He shared an extensive knowledge of Scotland, and made the country come alive. We saw more with him than we would have on our own, and we felt that he catered the tour to make sure that we saw what we wanted to see. We couldn't have been more pleased! Overall, our experience with Nordic Visitor was absolutely wonderful. Christoph Glauche went over and above in his efforts to answer all of my questions and provided me with websites and other suggestions to help me plan the tour that was best for us. We stopped by the office in Edinburgh to meet him since I had corresponded with him for months. He was just as sweet and helpful in person.

All of the hotels were perfect! It was a pleasure to work with Annie. She made arrangements for an extra 5 night stay. We had a wonderful trip thanks to her. We couldn't have done the driving without the GPS in the rental car.

The hotels/guesthouses booked were fantastic. The hosts at each location were incredibly welcoming and made our stay wonderful. This was our third tour using the company and I can't rave enough about how great the trips have been. Oh my gosh! We had the BEST time, and Maria did an all around FABULOUS job!  All the hotels were very nice, clean, comfortable and had lovely views!..I appreciated that all hotels had a tea kettle in the room to make hot water, and nice hair dryers.

We really enjoyed the book that you put together for our trip with suggested sites. It was very helpful. If it only came with a time management button it would be incredible, haha! We totally missed the sights in Inverness because we spent too much time at a castle and then things were closed. Maybe including hours of sites would be helpful. We did get better as we went!

The North Link ferry was so fun. This was a wonderful experience, with a restaurant, observation decks, a store, comfy chairs....Etc. Going to Orkney Island was so worth it; actually one of our favorite places, along with the Highlands, Glencoe area, Edinburgh castle....maybe we have too many favorites..) 

For food, it was interesting. We found great restaurants (Rollo and the Smoo Cave Hotel restaurant come to mind as delicious!), and luckily we stopped at a grocery store several times for easy food to be able to eat whenever.

As far as driving, it was fine and nice to be on our schedule. The single track roads in the highlands worked out fine... We drove 1,235 miles, saw wonderful sites, hiked amazing places, took thousands of pics and couldn't be more thrilled with everything that Nordic Visitor planned and prepared for us! We have several people that were interested in our opinion after our trip, and we will certainly be giving Nordic Visitor a fabulous endorsement, and Maria of course! Thank you so much for an unforgettable epic trip!
