WHEN & HOW TO VISIT SCOTLAND FROM INDIA
Nordic Visitor’s self-drive tours in summer (April - October) are the best options for UK and Scotland vacations from India that are longer than 8 - 10 days, or for travellers who want more flexibility for hiking, sightseeing and photography. Shorter road trips are also available in wintertime. And thankfully for visitors from India, motorists in Scotland also drive on the left side of the road.
If you don’t want to do the driving in Scotland, a privately guided tour or guided small group tour is a great option to travel with a friendly local driver-guide and learn more about Scottish culture, Scottish food and more. Worried about a language barrier? Relax! There is not a substantial difference of English in India and Scotland, although the Scottish accent and slang words will likely be different than what you are used to.

WHAT TO SEE ON SCOTLAND TOURS FROM INDIA
There are many routes from Edinburgh that you could follow to see Scotland’s top attractions depending on the attractions you wish to see, your length of stay and the pace of your travel. Below are some popular Scotland trip ideas by number of days.
Under a week: For most Scotland trips from India, the Scottish Highlands are the main attraction. If this beautiful wilderness area is on your must-see list, give yourself at least 4 - 5 days to see the most famous Highland sights with overnights in the Inverness, Fort William or Loch Lomond areas. Want to visit some islands? Then plan to spend at least 6 days to travel from Edinburgh through the Highlands and to either the Isle of Skye or the Oban and Isle of Mull area. On this express route of Scotland, you can visit breathtaking attractions such as Loch Ness, the picturesque Glen Coe and Eilean Donan Castle.
1 - 2 weeks: To get the classic Scottish experience on your Scotland trip from India, we recommend travelling in the country for about 10 days. With this much time you can take a journey alongside Scotland’s beautiful east coast to the city of St Andrews and the “Castle Trail” region of Aberdeenshire before heading into the Highlands and onwards. In 12 days or more you can also visit the Orkney Islands and drive sections of the scenic North Coast 500 route or travel even further to the quiet islands of Harris and Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
2 - 3 weeks: In 17 - 21 days you can do the ultimate road trip of Scotland, including the east coast, Highlands and many of the major islands.
