Experience Scotland your way

We have tours for all varieties of travel styles and interests. See our options for exploring Scotland below.

What to see in Scotland in 10 days

On a 10-day trip to Scotland it’s easy to experience many of the country’s most famous sights and scenic routes. Starting from Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city, the most popular Scotland itineraries for 10 days usually include a trip up the beautiful east coast to Aberdeenshire, a journey through the rugged Scottish Highlands and some time to explore the main attractions on the Isle of Skye.

On this type of classic Scotland trip, you can visit the following highlights:

If you’re a whisky lover, another idea for a 10-day tour of Scotland is to travel to popular whisky producing regions, such as the Isle of Islay and the charming town of Oban on the west coast. Nordic Visitor’s Scotland tour packages can be tailored by our local experts with extra nights at select locations, alternative arrivals or departures from Glasgow, day tours in Edinburgh and more.

Go on an incredible 10-day Scotland road trip

Want to do the driving in Scotland and explore at your own pace? A road trip through Scotland in 10 days is the way to go if you want to take your time at popular photography sites or enjoy a bit of hiking on your route. With a longer tour by car in Scotland, for example 14 days or more, you could also drive to lesser-travelled regions such as the Orkney Islands or the far-flung isles of the Outer Hebrides.

Nordic Visitor’s self-drive tour packages include a rental car of your choice and everything else you need for the best Scotland road trip experience. Take comfort in the fact that all accommodations on your 10-day road trip in Scotland have been pre-arranged by your dedicated Nordic Visitor travel consultant in Edinburgh. And know exactly where you’re driving each day — and which optional attractions you can visit — with a personalised itinerary and Scotland travel guide booklet. We’ll also provide you with a hand-marked map of Scotland, a GPS navigation system and our own 24/7 helpline.

See the best of Scotland in 10 days on a guided tour

Don’t want to do the driving on your 10-day tour of Scotland? A guided small group tour by Nordic Visitor is the way to go. Unlike a standard bus tour, our tour groups are limited to 16 travellers so that you can enjoy more personal interactions with your local driver-guide and fellow adventurers while travelling in a comfy mini-coach. What’s more, all guided tours operated by Nordic Visitor include quality accommodations and opportunities to taste gourmet local cuisine and Scotch whisky at renowned distilleries.

Looking for a more upgraded experience? Nordic Visitor also offers bespoke privately-guided tours, which offer the flexibility of a self-drive tour but with the ease of riding in a premium 4x4 vehicle driven by a professional local guide. Private tours are a great option for those who are tracing Scottish roots or have a specific interest in Scotland’s heritage sites.

Flights to Scotland

The two biggest international airports in Scotland are in Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, and in Edinburgh, the capital city and usual starting point for Nordic Visitor tours. Flight times to Scotland are, for example, 6.5 hours from New York City and 1.5 hours from London. Major international airlines with flights to Scotland include (but are not limited to) British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta and KLM.

Scotland and the rest of the UK is on GMT time. If your journey to Scotland involves one or more connecting flights, or if you're crossing several time zones to get here, your dedicated Nordic Visitor travel consultant can add extra nights in Edinburgh to your package so you can rest up after arrival.

Please note that flights to Scotland are not included in Nordic Visitor packages.

Our Services

Whether you travel independently or with a guide in your Nordic Visitor package, you will receive personalised service from a designated travel consultant and high-quality travel documents. What's more, all self-drive clients receive a hand-marked map that outlines the driving route, overnights and highlights along the way. Travel with ease knowing that Nordic Visitor has close professional relationships with local service providers, which are carefully selected by our staff for their consistently high standards.

I cannot say enough good things about Nordic Visitor

I cannot say enough good things about Nordic Visitor. Information given was thorough, accommodations were very comfortable (very friendly hosts) and tourist sights suggestions were incredibly helpful. Agne did a wonderful job! I highly would recommend her to anyone. If anyone has any doubts about booking with Nordic Visitor I would simply suggest reading the reviews...You'll find that the positive reviews are accurate!

Had the best time and experience

We had the best time and experience, the self-drive tour was easy to follow and gave us enough structure to see a lot in a small amount of time but still gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace. The restaurant recommendations were really helpful and the places we stayed were so memorable and inviting. It was also great that we had the flexibility to add another day to Edinburgh at the beginning of the trip to explore. I'll highly recommend the tour agency.

Journey was terrific and easy to follow

Agne was extremely helpful and informative when organising the holiday. All travel documents were emailed to us before we left Australia and hard copies were also waiting for us at our first accommodation in Edinburgh. The fold-out map that had been highlighted with route of the journey was terrific and easy to follow.

Thank you again for great memories

We just returned last night from our trip to Scotland and I wanted to let you know what a great trip we had with Nordic Visitor. You were wonderful setting up our requests and I cannot thank you enough for switching our tour dates when we were unable to go as originally planned in May. The hotels and food were brilliant. Brian was magnificent. We could not ask for more of a guide. Even the special trip to see Highland coos. This was our second Nordic Visitor trip and we are now looking into our 3rd for next year. Thank you again for great memories. I am glad we were able to meet you on our first night.

More customizable & more fun adventure

We are thankful we went with Nordic Visitor for our tour of Scotland. We were at each location one hour before all of the tour buses because we had our own car and could get around quicker. More customizable and a more fun adventure.

Will for sure continue to use Nordic Visitor

This is our second time using Nordic Visitor and both times have been absolutely wonderful! The stress of having to book accommodations and arrange car rental and travel from the airport is completely eliminated by utilizing this travel resource. We will for sure continue to use Nordic Visitor and have shared your information and website with many friends and even strangers.

Whole experience was a pleasure

I was very impressed with the ease of use and professionalism of Nordic Visitor right from the initial website browsing through online booking, tour confirmation, payment and final documentation. Service from our Travel Consultant (Sarah) was top class and personalized. The guidance given on sites of interest was well researched and fully comprehensive. The whole experience was a pleasure. Well done.

"Above and beyond" service

"Very Good" comes short of describing my trip! This was probably my top, most favorite trip every and I travel a lot. The B&Bs and hotels were excellent and I chose the standard. My itinerary was well planned making it so easy to just enjoy everything. The detailed guide book also was a great help in offering suggestions of thing not to miss. My deepest appreciation to Annie not only for planning this outstanding trip, but also her "above and beyond" service dealing with my luggage which the airline had lost.
